It’s Springtime! Nature is coming back to life, with lots of Colorado sunshine and blue sky the prevailing forecast, mixed with some rain and thunderstorms periodically to keep things interesting. Overall we’ve had a very mild Spring so far. Things are turning nice and green, but we can almost always use more rain in our semi-arid climate.
This is a GREAT time to buy a home in Colorado Springs, with almost 3,400 single family homes for sale as of May 1 in our area (that is REALLY low!), and 30 year fixed interest rates in the upper 3′s and low 4′s! We have updated Colorado Springs Real Estate Market Conditions as of May 1. April home sales were up 4.8% from last year, and prices were up also, the average was up 2.6% and the median (1/2 above, 1/2 below) was up 4.1% The inventory of unsold homes is at record lows, and with the spring selling season upon us, we expect to see more price stability going forward.
