Colorado Springs has been deemed the #2 Best Place to Live in the US for 2018! Rankings are based on affordability, job prospects, economic growth, education opportunities, and quality of life among other things. In regards to employment, Colorado Springs provides ample opportunities for work, with record low unemployment rates of 2.8 in May, 3.6 in June and 3.7 in July (Bureau of Labor Statistics). In addition, Colorado Springs has been ranked #44 of 100 for Best Places to Retire. Top criteria include housing affordability, happiness, desirability, retiree taxes, job market and healthcare quality. It is no wonder that so many people are moving to this growing city and staying!

As for an overall ranking of “Best States” (not cities), Colorado comes in at #10! Not too shabby out of all 50 states. Colorado is #9 for healthcare, #10 for quality of life, and #1 for economy! The population in Colorado is among the healthiest in the nation, likely encouraged by the state’s outdoor activities, physical beauty and mild climate. The state’s median household income, $65,685 in 2016, was higher than the national average of $57,617.
Another interesting thing to point out– Denver ranked as #3 Best Place to Live in 2018! There’s certainly a reason Colorado takes up the #2 and #3 spots– we have jobs opportunities, good education, tons of outdoor activities, health/environment conscious minds, and just an overall sense of happiness here in Colorado!
