Those wishing to live in Colorado Springs have many choices when it comes to neighborhoods. Forest Meadows is a newer community located in the Powers corridor at the corner of Woodmen and Black Forest Road. This community is close to shopping, St. Francis Hospital, Colorado Springs top employers, public transit and park & ride! It is a short commute to both the Air Force Academy and Peterson AFB and to I-25. Nearby fitness facilities include Villasport, Lifetime Fitness and the YMCA. Recently, Research Parkway was opened between Wolf Ranch and Black Forest Rd, allowing even better access to Briargate and other northern Colorado Springs amenities.
While the homes are generally newer (there is some new construction still going on), the area was first begun in 2006. Builders who have built in this subdivision include Richmond, Challenger, Keller, Premier, Aspen View, and Today’s Homes.

There are separate home owners associations for Forest Meadows proper, and The Trails at Forest Meadows. This is largely due to the time phases of construction that has taken place. Pertinent HOA and dues can vary depending on which section a home is in.
The main HOA in Forest Meadows–however, dues are a mere $20 per month. HOA management company assists with covenant enforcement, some minor common area maintenance and trash and recycling services.
Forest Meadows has several small community parks, and in the The Trails at Forest Meadows, there is even a community garden area. Other nearby parks and trails include Cottonwood Creek Park, and Black Forest Regional Park/Nature Preserve is close by and offers tennis courts, picnic areas, turf playfields, and a six mile trail loop.
Forest Meadows is an affordable, family-oriented community in a prime location. Houses are made with energy-efficient construction and the community offers an array of amenities. There is also a new charter school to be built in the community (Grand Peak), making this neighborhood even more enticing!
