Colorado Springs Bids Fond Farewell to Realtors Convention
This week was the final scheduled convention of the Colorado Association of Realtors at the Broadmoor Hotel, Colorado Springs finest (and only) 5 star hotel. The meetings have been held here for as long I can remember, and it is a little sad to see the venue move to Denver for at least next year, but that is probably the right thing. With the economy being as weak as it is, it is a long way for many of the Denver metro area agents, and a lot of expense that can be avoided. Still, the Broadmoor puts a on a great party, and it was fun to stroll the grounds and enjoy the gorgeous fall weather we’ve been having. Who knows, it may be back at some point.
One of the things we learned in a seminar on “the Google Universe” taught by G W James (Handheld Computing Solutions) was the advantage of using Picasa Web Albums to store and display our photos. The slideshow below is an example of doing that, but please keep reading, there is more below.
The keynote speaker (Michael Kerr) was just what a bunch of serious business people in a tough economy needed. His talk (Putting Humor to Work) was perfect for this time, and I enjoyed it thoroughly. While I may not be seen wearing any of the silly hats he loves to use, I’m going to make a real effort to keep some laughter in my every day life!
The big challenge for me after a convention is trying to actually use what I learned. If you find yourself a victim of me testing some new tricks I learned (especially in technology!), bear with me, I’m just trying to get better at what I do, and have a little fun along the way 🙂
