Colorado Springs Home Prices Jump in October

The Colorado Springs real estate market got more good news in October.

• The median price rose 14.4% from 2011 to $211,650
• The average price rose 8.3% from 2011 to $239,945
• Building permits were up 53.2%
• The inventory of unsold homes dropped 11.3%
• Sales rose 4.75%

Now if we could just get some good news on the jobs front. Unemployment for September was 9.3%, well above the average for the state. Hopefully some of the new employment announcements we’ve had over the last year will turn into paychecks soon and get this train back on track!
