Hanging Lake in Colorado
Do you enjoy hiking and being a part of nature? Then you should check out this hike that leads you to a beautiful waterfall!
Located in Glenwood Springs, Hanging Lake provides a gorgeous view at the end of your hike. Green waters and lush surroundings make this waterfall extra special. In the winter, the waterfall freezes making for an even more unique view!
Hiking to the lake may be only 1.2 miles, but it is a strenuous one. It is steep, but worth the view. While the hike itself used to be at your leisure, after April 30, 2019 reservations will be required in order to protect the area’s fragile ecosystem. There is a shuttle that will take you to the trail head.
With warmer weather approaching, make the most of it by enjoying the amazing environment Colorado offers!
Branching off I-70 just 10 miles east of Glenwood Springs in the spectacular Colorado River-carved Glenwood Canyon, the Hanging Lake Trail is a must-stop along this scenic patch of highway. The trail is relatively short — just over a mile — but it’s quite steep and rocky.
