Trilakes Featured Homes and Lunch – Nice!
I’m not a huge of fan of ‘broker open houses’ when the market is busy. First of all, it seems like the homes for sale in Colorado Springs that the agents want you to look at, sell quickly enough that by the time you find the perfect buyer, they are gone anyway. Secondly, I usually am too busy to take 1 – 2 hours (and who knows how many miles) for a free (and usually just ok) lunch anyway. However, today was sort of a snow day (we got maybe an inch overnight), it wasn’t that busy, and the market has been slower (they might last longer!), so I decided I’d see what was going on. Moreover the RE/MAX Properties agents holding the event are co-workers and friends, so it seemed like the right thing to do. The area that was featured was Trilakes (Monument, Woodmoor and Palmer Lake), and we saw just 3 homes.
The first was in Palmer Lake (405 Upper Glenway). The house was totally worth the visit, a rancher at around 5,000 square feet, beautifully done (nice granite, hardwoods, top quality appliances, huge Trex deck, etc), great views, and priced at $539,000 (a link to all the homes with addresses and photos is at the bottom of this post). There were wild turkey tracks all over the driveway in the fresh snow, so the wildlife obviously like the setting. Special thanks to Rick Allen for his great supa Toscana as well, a very nice start!
The second was over on the Woodmoor (east) side of I25 (18385 White Fawn,Monument), and was a large 2 story with a 3 car garage, great views, 4600 square feet for $450,000. Thanks to Nyla Young for some very nice sandwiches!
The 3rd was the biggest surprise of the 3. At only $350,000 with a nice sized treed lot in Woodmoor (1540 Fawnwood, Monument), this struck me as a very good value. Even though it was built in the late 70’s, it was nicely updated, and a very functional floor plan with good outdoor living spaces. While we were enjoying the desert and coffee (thanks Rich and Cindy Fuhr for that!), a herd of about 12 deer wandered through the front yard (sorry, didn’t get a photo of that!)
