Invictus At Chapel Hills Theaters – Awesome!
The Chapel Hills Mall in Colorado Springs is going through a bit of a hard time right now. The mall operator, General Growth, is still working on emerging from a chapter 11 bankruptcy, and so some of the mall is not in the best of shape. In particular the Carmike theaters at Chapel Hills have some issues, apparently a major heating unit is out and some of the theaters are really cold. The good news was that the matinee prices and $1 Tuesday popcorn and drinks at least made the trip affordable!
The movie we saw today was Invictus, and it was fabulous. It is set in South Africa, and our daughter-in-law is from Stellenbosch, just NE of Cape Town. We had the good fortune of being able to travel there this past April and May. The movie captures some great footage of the Cape Town area, and it brought back such sweet memories of the special people we met and their warm hospitality (see post from our trip). The movie is filled with hope and inspiration, a real ‘feel good’ experience. It takes a pretty good movie to get me excited, and I’d give this one 5 stars out of 5.
We’ve got a cold front and some snow coming in over night. It’s a shame, because the sunny, almost 50 degree day we had today felt kind of nice, I even left my jacket in the car while I showed houses!
